The special vehicle Taxík Maxík, which transports the elderly and people with reduced mobility in Prague 7, got a new lifting platform so that it can help even better and more comfortably.
As stated on website Prague 7, Taxi Maxík hit the streets for the first time in January of this year. He was sent there by the seventh district together with Charita Praha-Holešovice. For more than half a year, the white-yellow vehicle has been transporting senior citizens and citizens with reduced mobility to the post office or to the doctor.
To make their transport even better and easier, the vehicle has had a new lifting platform for people in wheelchairs since the end of July. It was also supplemented by grab handles and lower steps. Transport is therefore now even more convenient.
777 customers used the service
In the first seven months of operation, Taxi Maxík found a number of satisfied passengers who use its services often and repeatedly. A total of 77 customers have ridden it so far and the car has driven 11,370 kilometers. The installation of the lifting platform, handrails and steps also arose from the experience of previous operation.
“Together with Charita Holešovice, we are still evaluating how to ensure everyone has the most comfortable journey to the doctor, to the post office or to go shopping. After the experience of the first six months of operation, we had the vehicles install a lifting platform for wheelchairs and we also added lower steps or additional handrails. Travels with the seven-seat Taxi Maxík will now be even more pleasant for everyone, regardless of mobility restrictions,” said Prague 7 Mayor Jan Čižinský (Prague itself).
