Police investigate death on De Coninckplein in Antwerp (Antwerp)
The Antwerp police have launched an investigation into a suspicious death on De Coninckplein. For the time being, little information is known about the victim’s situation and identity. A perimeter has been set up around the square, the forensic lab will be on site for trace evidence.
According to our information, a car hit the square around 7:10 PM. “A man got out of the car who was bleeding profusely. He immediately fell to the ground,” said an eyewitness. “Bystanders came to the man’s aid and called emergency services.”
An ambulance rushed to the spot. The problems play out, but the help was to no avail. The man has died.
No information is currently available on the victim’s circumstances and identity. Police have established a judicial perimeter around the square. The forensic lab arrives on site for trace evidence.
The police determined that they are also present at a second crime scene. “We can’t give any further information about that either. We are investigating the connection between both places”, Wouter Bruyns, something of the Antwerp police.
