Heavy fire in flat in Brussels: no injuries, but a lot of damage in underlying buildings | Brussels
BrusselsOn Sunday morning around 3.50 am, a fire broke out in a flat on the sixth floor of a building on Vlaamsesteenweg in Brussels. This is reported by fire brigade spokesman Walter Derieuw. There were no injuries.
When firefighters arrived, the fire in the top-floor flat was already raging. The flat was uninhabited and renovated. The house was completely destroyed by the fire. The flats below, which were hit by water infiltration, are temporarily uninhabitable. The firefighting was over by 7 a.m. A dozen residents were able to leave the building of their own accord with the help of the police and fire brigade. The origin of the brand has yet to be used.
