Euro swimming: Alisée Pisane smashes the Belgian record in the 1500m and goes to the final
Alisée Pisane broke the Belgian record in the 1500m at the European Long Course Swimming Championships.

Alisée Pisane took advantage of the 1500m freestyle series at the European Long Course Swimming Championships on Sunday morning in Rome to beat her first senior Belgian record. The 19-year-old from Waremm smashed her personal best and set the time of 16:26.20. Third in the 2nd series, she managed the 6th time of the 22 swimmers present and will contest the final on Monday evening (7:29 p.m.) in the Italian capital.
Pisane erases from the national tablets Eva Bonnet’s 16:29.28 which was set in Hodmezovasarhely, Hungary on July 8, 2016. Her previous personal best was 16:34.90, since May 29 this year in Samorin, Slovakia.
Lucie Hanquet achieved the 13th fastest time of the morning in 16:48.41. The 18-year-old Arlonaise was ranked 7th in the 3rd and last series but remained quite far from her personal best performance which dates back to April 24 in Antwerp in 16: 42.59.
On Thursday, the two swimmers broke their personal best in the 800m freestyle series. Alisée Pisane (8: 44.88) and Lucie Hanquet (8: 48.44) were ranked 12th and 16th respectively.
