For 280 years of stadium bans after Antwerp-Frankfurt football match | Antwerp
AntwerpAccording to the Antwerp-Frank match, the police and court have imposed a stadium ban on 149 supporters, good for a total of 280 years. In addition, almost 100,000 euros in fines were imposed.
The Antwerp-Frankfurt match dates from September 30, 2021 in the group stage of the Europa League. The game was then marred by rioting by both supporters of both teams. For example, a supporter of Antwerp threw a flare from the main stand at the goalkeeper of Frankfurt. After the match, an investigation was launched by the police and the public prosecutor. A total of 105 supporters from Frankfurt and another 44 from Antwerp were identified using, among other things, the camera images of the police in and outside the stadium and the German police who were on the scene.

The 105 identified Frankfurt supporters were each banned for 24 months. That’s good for more than 200 years of stadium bans. Fines amounting to a total of 51,300 euros were also approved. On the Antwerp side, 44 people were banned from the stadium for a total of 76.5 years. Fines totaling 43,800 euros were also imposed. Among other things, the person who reached the fireworks towards the person the goalkeeper was identified and recorded. All sentences were handed down under the Football Act. The police and the judiciary take action against those who commit violence in the context of football matches.
