A majority of Danes want marijuana legalized and let the state handle the sale.
This is shown by an opinion poll conducted by Norstat among 1001 people who form a representative sample of the adult Danish population. It is the Danish cannabis activist Khodor Merhi who has asked Norstat to carry out the measurement, writes Berlingske.
54 percent yes to the question «do you think you should legalize cannabis and the state handle the sale of it? 28 percent answer no, while the remaining 18 percent answer “don’t know”.
Support for the legalization scheme can be seen in voters from almost all political parties, including the Social Democrats, the radical left, the new bourgeois and liberal alliance, the Danish Democrats and the moderates.

Regardless of income – Those with higher education say no more often
The survey suggests that the position on the issue of legalization of marijuana is completely independent of which income group one belongs to. Legalization is supported by people with an annual household income of less than DKK 100,000 and those who earn over DKK 1 million.

People who only have primary school education as their highest completed education, on the other hand, are particularly positive. Hers is 70 percent for legalization. Among Danes with a short higher education, the turnout is 51 percent. Among those with medium or long education, support is measured at 55 and 48 percent respectively, writes the Danish newspaper Berlingske.
