Last week, from August 1 to 7, 2022, 10,147 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday, August 9. Also during the mentioned period, according to the health authorities, 32 deaths caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus were recorded.
In total, between August 1 and 7, 2022, 36,628 laboratory tests were performed to detect the COVID-19 virus.
Also, between August 1 and 7, according to the health authorities, 5,364 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 were administered in the Republic of Moldova. Thus, 708 people were vaccinated with the first dose of vaccine, 478 with the second dose of vaccine, and with the booster dose – 4,178 people. Currently, 1,068,269 people are vaccinated with the full schedule.

According to the decision of the Chisinau Extraordinary Public Health Commission (CESP), from July 13, 2022, protective masks have become mandatory in medical and sanitary institutions of all categories in the capital. The capital’s health authorities have also advised citizens to wear protective masks in public transport and crowded closed public spaces. At the same time, according to the CESP Chisinau decision, hospitals with a COVID-19 profile are to be gradually activated.
