ČSSD and independents: Solidarity for Prague 4
The new senior taxi service will help seniors and disabled people to live at home as long as possible
Prague 4 has the highest average age of its residents among the central parts of the capital. The candidates from “ČSSD and independents: Solidarity for Prague 4” therefore count on the establishment of senior taxis in their program priorities for the municipal elections. It is a service intended for citizens over seventy years of age and holders of TP, ZTP and ZTP/P cards.

Helping the elderly or people with health limitations was, is and will always be a clear priority of social democracy. “Unfortunately, the current management of the town hall has not managed to start the construction of the new home for the elderly on Hudečkova Street, let alone find the money for it. It only staged a bizarre theater of knocking on the alleged foundation stone. However, our proposal for a new senior taxi service caters to people who want to live fully in their homes, in their natural environment, for as long as possible, in old age or in poor health. Senior taxi will allow transportation around Prague for a nominal price, to medical facilities and offices such as polyclinics or the post office. A similar service already works in other parts of the city, where we were inspired,” says candidate Petr Horálek.
Senior taxi will not only help a significant part of the population of Prague 4, but also to improve the environment. “For this service, we plan to purchase at least two electric cars using European subsidies and build a charging station for them in the territory of the city,” explains Petr Pravda, who is also running for “ČSSD and independents: Solidarity for Prague 4”. The operation of the newly purchased electric cars will be ecological, but also economical. “We expect that the town hall can also be used for delivering meals to the elderly, or for other social services as well. It can’t happen that the cars are idle,” adds election manager Pavel Traub.
