A total of twelve teams with funny names such as “Ladies in Bacon Coat”, “The Know-it-alls without guarantee”, “Quizzly Bears” or “The Four Thirsty 3” registered for the quiz. The game was played in three rounds, each with 15 questions. It is about historical, pop culture, culinary and social events and peculiarities of the city’s history. For example, HAZ moderator Jan Sedlies wanted to know from the participants how many teeth the Leibnitz butter biscuit has, where the stage name Mousse T. comes from and the name of the first cinema in Hanover that opened in 1945.

Kiefer had recently cleared 100,000 euros on the TV show “Der Quiz-Champion” with Johannes B. Kerner. Already in 2010 she won 64,000 euros in “Who wants to be a millionaire?” They also took part in the “Wheel of Fortune” with moderator Thomas Ohrner, played “Risiko!” with Kai Böcking and competed in “Ca$h” with Ulla Kock am Brink – a little longer ago – for a million Deutschmarks.
Petra Bonge, the location manager of the quiz club in Hanover, also regularly takes part in competitions – she already came 22nd at the German championships.

The 56-year-old is a professional and had prepared intensively for the quiz with her three fellow combatants in the “Seejungfrauen” team and had already read a lot about the city of Hanover and its history on the Internet beforehand. “We even looked at the light rail network,” Bonge admitted.
In the end, that was only decisive for one question, but the “mermaids” knew Hanover best – and won just ahead of the “ladies in bacon coats” and the “quizzly bears”. The winning team was rewarded with HAZ ticket vouchers worth 30 euros each for concerts, musicals, comedy and many other events. The second-placed reasons A DVD box with the most beautiful film treasures in the city of Hanover, the third-placed were a book package.
For many, however, it is not the winning that counts, but the fun of the campaign. “There are questions here that I have never heard before. You learn a lot from it,” said 27-year-old Kevin Ströh. Pedro Prüser (51) had a lot of fun “solving puzzles in a team”. “It would be nice if they serve that more often.”
