Weekend restrictions in Brno: drivers will not drive through Žabovřeska in the direction of Králová Pole
Weekend restrictions await drivers when passing through Brno’s Žabovreská Street. In the direction of Králova Pole, it will not be possible to drive through Žabovřeská on Saturday and Sunday. The reason is the ongoing work on the construction of a large urban ring road. It should be back to normal after the weekend.

Traffic in the direction of Bauerova street will lead over the Kamenomlýnský bridge and to Veslařská street between Brno’s Jundrov and Pisárky. “In the opposite direction, it will be possible to drive through Žabovřeska street in one lane,” shared Anna Dudková from the press center of the Brno municipality. Construction began at the site four years ago, and should be completed in 2024.

The work is divided into two stages. The first stage focused on the section between Kníničský and Kamenomlýnský most. For example, a footbridge over a busy road was created in the place, which solves the dangerous crossing between Žabovřské meadows and the Bráfova stop. In the second stage, the work moved to the section between Kamenomlýnský bridge and Hlinky Street. This is also connected with the excavation of the tunnel through which line 1 will be connected in the future.
