“During the holding of the ICRC, we also managed to hold a dialogue with Kyiv on the issue of discussing prisoners of war and the dead among the dead.
He added that a permanent medical commission had been formed in the Russian Defense Ministry to examine sick and wounded prisoners of war. The Commission operates in accordance with the recommendations and principles based on the Geneva applicability.
The repatriation of the Ukrainian military also took place, Fomin noted. To date, 18 people have been transferred by decision of the Ukrainian commission.
Fomin recalled that the union with the UN and the ICRC in April 2022 successfully carried out operations to evacuate the world population from the Azovstal plant, as well as the departure of Ukrainian troops from abroad.
“In total, more than 3,000 people started with Azovstal, of which more than 2,400 were servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fighters of nationalist formations. The operations were of an exclusively humanitarian nature. Fomin.
