The company AD Praha secures the Croatian railway line Hrvatski LeskovacKarlovac
esk company AD Praha, spol. Ltd agreed with its bid for the supply of security and telecommunications equipment to the railway line Hrvatski LeskovacKarlovac and signed a contract in Karlovac on behalf of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Minister of Transport Oleg Butkovic with H Infrastructure. AD will complete all deliveries from the position of the main contractor, the value of the contract is HRK 263.5 million (EUR 34.9 million), the project will be implemented for 30 months.
Croatia railway section Leskovac-Karlovac is 44 km long and is located on the Zheb-Rijeka railway line. Its reconstruction and modernization of the second line will not only improve the local transport of the cities of Zheb and Karlovac, but will also be another important step in the construction of a new railway, which will ultimately contribute to the competitiveness of the city of Rijeka by improving its connections with the markets of Central Europe. Even with the construction work that will be undertaken by the consortium Strabag AGit is a project with a total value of HRK 2.7 billion (EUR 3.6 million), of which 85% of the financial resources are co-financed through the Competitiveness and Coherence Operative Program 2014-2020.
As a country, we have invested heavily in transport infrastructure in recent years, and the coming decade will be similar to investments in railway infrastructure. The fact that this project is largely co-financed from European funds indicates how important it is to be a part of the European Union. Railway transport is one of the safest and fastest means of transport in the whole world and it is our duty to be a part of European railways…, said the President of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenk.
AD will cooperate with the consortium in the modernization of security facilities Strabag AG in Croatia to install a full electronic station security device ESA 44, which will operate in those railway stations (Hrvatski Leskovac, Jastrebarsko, Karlovac) and according to six stops. The supply includes an integrated grass security device, secured 62 switchbacks, installation of a pot repair system and equips all changed railway stations and grass cuttings with modern lamps with LED lights in a pot of no more than 200 pieces. Thus, AD arranges the supply of 8 railway crossings, a system for fire switches, telecommunication equipment and the rights to its buildings under architectural protection. Equip the entire AD line with the unified European train system ETCS equal to L1 with the exception of one piece of radio-block central for ETCS equal to L2. This section is part of the pan-European strategic corridor ZagrebRijeka, trains on it will travel at a speed of 160 km/h.
Croatia has long been one of the strategic territories where our company has always wanted to supply modern railway security technology. For us, this first significant project is at the same time the culmination of tremendous strength and a great challenge to demonstrate the quality of Czech systems and the professionalism of AD. The door to the company, which was opened by Prime Minister A. Plenk and the Croatian government minister at the signing of the contract, obliges us, said the editor-in-chief of AD Zdenk Chrdle.
The signing of this contract was preceded by a tough competitive battle, when the consortium firemen Alstom Ferroviaria AND Konar Engineering did not complain due to the issuance of the AD order to file a complaint to The Supreme Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia. That bag decided in favor of AD. By signing the contract, the AD company confirmed its position in the Balkans, where, in addition to Croatia, it is currently implementing extensive projects in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The R embassy in Zheb provided AD assistance in difficult negotiations with Croatian government partners.
We are all the more glad that the AD company failed in the tender. It opened up possibilities and possibilities for esk company in the priority sector of railway transport in Croatia, the planned investment by 2030 should be EUR 3.5 billion.
