The Council of the Metropolitan City of Florence has approved the free transfer to the Naturalistic Museum of the Iis “Giotto Ulivi” in Borgo San Lorenzo of part of the stuffed animals or subjected to taxidermics present in the headquarters of the Metrocittà in Via Mercadante and the relative display cases.

Starting from 1 January 2016, following the Regional Law n. 22/2015, the Tuscany Region took over for the Hunting and Fishing function, in all proceedings, interventions, activities and related active and passive relationships, of competence up to that date of the Province of Florence, therefore, at least from 1 ° January 2016 the animals in question, due to non-use, had not been subjected to cleaning and disinfection treatments from mold and any parasites.
For this reason, the Heritage Department has entrusted the Centro Safari sas with the verification service of their condition.
At the end of the assignment, the specimens in a good state of conservation were identified, those in a fair state because they were completely damaged.
