Kart, Giacomo Marchioro of Scuderia San Marino competing at the weekend in Le Mans
The last weekend of July promises to be dedicated to the French language for the drivers of the
Scuderia San Marino, busy on the track with karts and SuperCars.
Already in France from Monday, Giacomo Marchioro will take part in the fourth edition of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy, which this year takes place on the Le Mans track, a stone’s throw from the one used also for the historic 24 hours. An undoubtedly important and prestigious commitment for the San Marino driver, who, interviewed shortly before the French track tests, told us about his feelings and objectives regarding the competition. “I am aware that the level is very high, in total there are 101 riders, the strongest in the category. I will take this race as an experience from which I can grow a lot. I will have to be good at managing the qualification and finding the right space on the asphalt. I have no expectations in terms of the classification, but I aim to do the best possible – he concludes – This is not the first international race for me, since last year I won the Italian championship and took part in a race in Bahrain with 72 pilots, the first in every national championship, where I finished with a good 11th place ”.
Marchioro, who participates in the Italian Rotax Championship, also talks about how it is going
his season: “We have reached the sixth race and at the moment I am in third position in the standings
general. I got off to a good start by winning the first two races, then I lost ground to some
my problems and mistakes in subsequent tests. There are two rounds left and the final (where the points
assigned to the drivers double, ed) and I will aim to do my best. I’m happy with the speed
shown so far, for me this is the first time in the Rotax Max category
Senior, so I’m satisfied ”.
On the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, the SuperCars will race where
several drivers from the San Marino team will be involved. It starts with Mattia Drudi, who
TotalEnergies 24 hours of Spa will compete in the GT World Challenge championship for a series of tests
in view of the sixth match on the calendar to be held in Misano. For the Lamborghini Super Trofeo
Europe will be involved Emanuel Colombini, Emanuele Zonzini, Luciano and Donovan
Privilege. Finally, for the GT4 European Series in the Am category, the white-blue driver Paolo
Meloni will team up with Massimiliano Tresoldi.
