The end of shooting misery. Líšeň gave four to Hostouna and announced a new goalkeeper
First weekend mission accomplished! In one of the two warm-ups for the new season on Saturday, the Lišné football players clearly managed to beat third-league Hostouna, winning 4:1 after a successful first half. “We are satisfied, because two boys from B and 19 also got a chance. But everyone coped with it very well,” praised Lišeň coach Milan Valachovič.

The Brno team entered the match in a combined lineup due to a busy schedule. Less than twenty-four hours after the match with Hostouní, the team was waiting for the second game – this time on the pitch of Slavia Prague. “Overall, I have to appreciate the approach to all the boys, because everyone can certainly gnaw that they won’t start against Slavia. But we had to divide it somehow and they handled it like professionals, they started the match well,” described Valachovič.
The high standard was borne mainly by the first half. In it, Líšeň broke through its shooting woes and in the thirty-seventh minute was already leading 3:0. “We planned to have some experienced players come in to help the youngsters. This was successful, for example Šimon Šumbera scored one goal and assisted on another, Michal Bednář and Erik Otrísal also made their mark. These are guys who have already had enough in the first Slovak or second Czech leagues,” noted the Líšen boatman.

At the same time, he clearly indicated that the line-up from Saturday’s match is not even a little further into the starting eleven than the players who will get the opportunity against Slavia Prague. “There are eighteen of us, everyone has to take it like professionals. The guys who are on the edge did not play against Hostoun, but we always choose the lineup according to the opponent. We already have some automatisms, so we also make decisions based on them,” he outlined.
Even before the weekend, coach Valachovič indicated that the lineup is not yet complete. His words were confirmed on Saturday, when Líšeň announced the arrival of 22-year-old goalkeeper Tomáš Vajner, who last worked in Jablonec. “We had him here for tests and we knew for about a week that he was coming. We just didn’t want to release it to the public before all the details were finalized,” clarified the coach.
With the arrival of the new acquisition, the situation in the Lišeň goal area, which the management had to deal with after the departure of Jan Vítek and the injury of Vlastimil Veselý, has been resolved. “We also had Vadym Shevchuk at the tests, but he finished last week. In addition, Veselý is starting to recover, he is slowly getting involved in the running of the team,” added Valachovič. Veselý and Vajner together with Vojtěch Mark, who caught the entire match against Hostoun, will make up the goalkeeper trio.
