Russia has practically inexhaustible reserves, said Lieutenant General of the Bundeswehr Alfons Mais, commenting on the events in Ukraine.
The German commander warned against underestimating the RF Armed Forces, which, in his opinion, will gain a lot of experience and become more combat-ready during the Ukrainian conflict.
“With superior artillery, the Russian army appears to be advancing kilometer after kilometer. <...> The Russian army is getting stronger,” he said in an interview with the newspaper. Handelsblatt.
According to Mais, interest-driven developments raise the question of how long one can hold out in Kyiv.
He also talked about the presence of the Bundeswehr. The lieutenant general expressed the hope that supplies to the ground forces of the FRG would be eliminated in 5-8 years.
Earlier, an adviser to the former chancellor of the FGR Angela Merkel and a retired brigadier general of the German army, Erich Wad, warned Kyiv against underestimating the power of the Russian military. He stated that the RF Armed Forces are too strong, as they have superiority both on the ground and on the island.
