Russia and Brazil develop and continue trade cooperation

On July 13, the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Moscow hosted a presentation of the achievements of the Brazilian Association of Rendering Companies (ABRA), which are engaged in the processing of slaughtered animal waste into meat and bone meal and industrial fats for the feed industry. The event was attended by Advisor to the Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Vasily Lavrovsky.

Rodrigo Baena Soares notes the importance of the Brazilian livestock industry for the country’s economy and the food security of states that import Brazilian products. He paid special attention to the contribution of the Rosselkhoznadzor and personally the Head of the Department, Sergey Dankvert, to the established strong ties between the supervisory authorities of the two countries, capable of developing mutually beneficial bilateral trade.
Desio Coutinho spoke in detail about the state of the Brazilian meat processing industry and the place in it of the ABRA association, which unites the country’s recycling enterprises. In particular, due to the large amount of animal waste, Brazil is a producer of meat, bone meal and natural resources, which are widely used in industry and industrial production, including as components of animal feed. To date, 13 Brazilian enterprises have received permission from the Rosselkhoznadzor to expand their activities, which allows them to develop the export of flour and fats to Russia. The Brazilian side showed readiness to expand cooperation with this adaptation.
Vasily Lavrovsky in his speech noted that the market of scarce feed components imported from the EU countries and imported from the EU countries is a natural consequence. Rosselkhoznadzor also focused on trade and importers on compliance with the requirements for the supply in Russia of livestock products obtained as a result of rendering processing, which previously requires agreed certificates.
