Films will be shown again at the Tęcza cinema in Żoliborz. And determining in his courtyard. And the latest Hollywood productions will not go there, it’s Andrzej Wajda’s. The series will begin on Thursday with the screening of “Innocent Sorcerers”. You will also be able to see the outdoor exhibition of Andrzej Pągowski’s posters “Wajda re-awakening”.
The summer cinema at 6 Suzina Street will be inaugurated on July 14 after sunset. At 8:45 pm the film “Innocent Sorcerers” by Andrzej Wajda will be reached. Later, viewers could also attend: “Hunting Flies” (July 21) and “Everything for Sale” (July 28).
Pągowski painted posters for all of Wajda’s films
In each subsequent complex of Centrum Kultury im. Andrzej Wajda. A cinema room with 200 seats will be built in the building
The historic building of the former Tęcza cinema was presented to the Film Culture Center. Andrzej Wajda. The facility is waiting for renovation. After it begins, a cinema room with almost 200 seats opens there, as well as spaces for exhibitions and activities.
As it resembles a city, the cinema building was built in 1929 as a boiler for the city to build a housing estate of the Warsaw Housing Cooperative. Soon, however, thanks to the boilers, it was possible to find a place for the kinote, which was missing in the area. The avant-garde Theater of Żeromski, directed by Irena Solska, cinema Żoliborz, and then cinema Świat. After resuming the activity, it was already operating under the name Tęcza. In 1989, the building became the seat of the Akademia Ruchu artistic collective. Since 1997, the building has been unused with short breaks.
