The new park was created in the middle of the wilderness: it invites visitors to an adventure trail
/PHOTO, VIDEO/ A new park with an adventure and educational trail for children was created in the Lesíček locality in Brno’s Ivanovice. Part of the revitalization of the wild nature there was the planting of new trees and the placement of wooden play elements made directly from old dry acacia trees from Lesíček. Visitors can easily get to the park from Brno’s Jubilejní or Kudrnova streets.

The forest park was in a neglected state for a long time. Overgrown with air raids and bushes. “We decided to revitalize it for the reason that it came alive and we lured people there. At the same time, we wanted to preserve its natural character. We cut down dry acacias, processed them and returned them to their original place in the form of game elements. We have built an adventure trail for children here, where they can try out the sensory walkway and obstacles. There is also an educational blackboard with a pexe,” informed Turan Mayor Radomír Vondra.

In the future, there will be more beech and oak trees in the locality, which will replace non-native tree species such as acacias. Brno deputy mayor Petr Hladík welcomes the renovation of the park for recreation and planting greenery. “It was created as part of the New Parks for Brno project, which supports the city district to create new green areas or restore the original ones. It really worked out in Tuřany,” said Hladík.
