Transport: the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, wishes to extend the cable car
During a meeting with the press this Wednesday noon, the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, said he was in favor of an extension of the Téléo cable car.
Inaugurated on May 13, Téléo, Toulouse’s urban cable car, which is based on the Paul-Sabatier University at the Oncopole, could be extended in the distant future. This is at least what the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, suggests, who sketched the future of Téléo this Wednesday at the Capitol in front of a few journalists. “The cable car was designed to be extended, it is technically possible” explains the mayor of Toulouse.

“I wish there would be an extension one day”
Tisséo has already identified extension axes: on the one hand towards Montaudran Aerospace to connect to the future third metro line; on the other towards Basso-Cambo to connect to the terminus of line A of the metro. “It would thus be connected to the three lines of the Toulouse metro”, continues Jean-Luc Moudenc, who hastens to specify that this project does not appear in the current urban transport plan (PDU). “We have not planned any investment for the good and simple reason that the costs have not been revealed and that no study has been carried out” continues the president of Toulouse Métropole. “I hope that one day there will be an extension. Let’s wait for that to have implemented all the current plan of urban travel. When we have completed the third metro line, we will be able to move up a gear on other projects.
