By tram from Prague to Měšice. The Central Bohemian Region is considering another extension of the tracks
The plan is still in the early stages, it would be an extension of the line from the future Sedlec terminal.
The Central Bohemian Region is seriously considering the fact that, in addition to the planned extension of the tram line from Prague’s Kobylis to Zdib, it will extend the tracks to Měšice. Earlier, the region announced plans for a possible extension to Odolena Vody.
The region first mentioned the plans publicly in a report on the approval of the intention to prepare a technical study potential for the development of the public transport system in the Prague metropolitan area. The study will help determine territorially protected potential corridors for the use of public mass transport, which, taking into account the current and current interest of passengers, will have to be used in future appropriate cases.
Attention should be paid to the material and the line Terminal Sedlec – Líbeznice – Měšice. The management of the line must be solved now, so that the municipalities take it into account when establishing their spatial plans.
“The idea of extending the tram line to Měšice arose during a public discussion with the municipalities. In our opinion, this extension makes a lot of sense, even in view of the Railway Administration’s plan to double track and electrify the line to Neratovice and Mělník,” said Radek Šíma, spokesman for the Central Bohemian Region.
Měšice is located on the route from Prague to Všetat. In Měšice, the region plans to build a P+R parking lot. According to Šíma, the plan for the tram line is in the early stages.
The preparation of the tram line to the Sedlec terminal is still ongoing, the plan has already gone through the EIA process.
