Apologies after complaints about De Amsterdamse Zomer festival: ‘Bar staff did not show up’

After it rained complaints on social media, the organization acknowledged that the course of the day left something to be desired. especially about long lines: there will be more than hours waiting for a drink.

Organizers Nicolette van Dam and Bas Smittte of a lack of staff: More than a third of the bar staff did not show up, they write in a statement. ‘We have to solve this, but we couldn’t manage in this challenging market. Our apologies. We, too, would have preferred to see this differently and feel that we have fallen short.’

That is not enough for some visitors. Many ask for their money back and indicate that there is more missing than just a lack of staff. Complaints are made about expensive tickets, lukewarm wine that was already finished by the start of the evening and bad sound.

The Amsterdam Summer is a two-day festival in the Olympic Stadium with artists from Dutch soil, such as Tino Martin, Rolf Sanchez, Kriss Kross Amsterdam, Emma Heesters, René Froger, Trijntje Oosterhuis and Edsilia Rombley.

Sunday is the second day of the festival. ‘We are working with all our might to get everything in order for today as you are used to from us,’ according to the organization. “And if you fancy a bar service, you know where to find us.”
