Antwerp Boat Tours bundles three Antwerp city harbor tours | Antwerp
AntwerpIn Antwerp, three tour boats in the city harbor on the Eilandje are working together to achieve their goals more smoothly. Via a new central website, the boats, each with a passenger capacity of 12 people, can be booked separately or together, with skipper and catering.
The three boats in question are the Rien Elizabeth, the Sir Tristram and the Iseo. The Rien Elizabeth is a 104 year old “notary boat” with notaries sailing around Amsterdam to have documents signed before going to an agreement. The Sir Tristram is a former lifeboat that was modernized and is now electrically banned. Finally, the Iseo is a “water limo” with a folding spray hood and sun bed.
According to the initiators, each boat has its own character and each skipper has his own approach, so the offer is very diverse. You get on your horses at the jetty at the MAS. The boats pass through the old docks of the islet and under the bridges, so there are no bridges. Along the way you will see, among other things, the old warehouses of the former harbor area, the Havenhuis, the lightship Westhinder and the church ship Sint-Jozef.
“A port city like Antwerp includes round trips”, alderman from Tourism Koen Kennis (N-VA) supports the initiative. “As a city, we are proud of our port and are happy to show it – both to visitors from outside the city and to our own residents. I therefore wish Antwerp Boat Tours a safe journey.”
