VIENNA

The Region in Vienna for the event “Puglia, a region of many talents” with the ambassador Stefano Beltrame – PRESS REGIONE

Sugar Mizzy July 1, 2022

Puglia enhances its excellence in Vienna during an entirely dedicated event, entitled “Puglia, a region of many talents”, scheduled at the Italian Cultural Institute (Ungargasse 43). Scheduled for July 4, 2022, from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm, the event will take place in the presence of the Italian ambassador in Austria, Stefano Beltrameand the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna, Fabrizio Iurlano.
The objective of the event is to enhance the activities that the Puglia Region supports and promotes in Italy and abroad in both a cultural and economic perspective. Central themes are research and innovation in Puglia, with the presentation of the new Apulian strategy of intelligent specialization, and aerospace, in terms of the many opportunities it offers, often transversal to economy and culture.
The Puglia Region (Trade Promotion, Handicraft and Internationalization Section), the Italian Embassy in Austria and the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna are organizing the event.
An all-round enhancement that, in addition to interventions on research, innovation and aerospace, hosts, in the frame of the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna, the photographic exhibition “Nel Blu painted by Blu” of the Apulian design works exhibited first at Expo Dubai and then at the “Fuorisalone” in Milan. And finally, the concert of the Apulian youth symphony orchestra conducted by teacher Teresa Satalino, whose young musicians will offer pieces by Bernstein, Mendelsshon and Stravinski. All in a context of promoting relations between Puglia and Austria.
To explain it is the councilor for economic development of the Puglia Region, Alessandro Delli Noci: “The award ceremony, in May, of Professor Luisa Torsi, professor of Chemistry at the University of Bari and vice president of the Scientific Council of the CNR, who received the Wilhelm Exner Medal in Vienna, highlighted how Austria can be an excellent partner for Puglia in scientific research and innovation. Apulian exports to this country show a trend of sustained growth: + 58.4% in the first three months of 2022 which are added to the growth of 20.1% in 2021 compared to the previous year. For us, Austria can be an important outlet market and we are sure that the event in Vienna will highlight the particularities of our Region and its excellence in innovation and will open up new collaborations in strategic and high value-added sectors such as aerospace”.
After the greetings of the ambassador Beltrame, the director Iurlano and Gianna Elisa Berlingerio who heads the Economic Development Department of the Puglia Region, the photographic exhibition “In the blue painted blue” will be inaugurated.
Following the speeches by the president of Arti, Regional Agency for Technology and Innovation and member of the Nereus Network Management Board, Vito Albino, by the president of the Aerospace Technological District of Puglia, Giuseppe Acierno, and by the National President of Enac Pierluigi Di Palma, who will intervene remotely.
Vito Albino will talk about research and innovation in Puglia and the new Smart Specialization Strategy, focusing on the initiatives and objectives of the programming, while Giuseppe Acierno will present the activities promoted by the Aerospace District and the opportunities offered by the first national Spaceport of Grottaglie with an intervention from title “Strategies and district levers to consolidate the competitiveness of the Apulian aerospace”. Pierluigi Di Palma will speak on the National Aerospace Plan and Puglia.
Finally, the concert of the Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Teresa Satalino, who will perform theOverture from Candido (1956) by Leonard Bernstein; The Concerto for violin and orchestra, Op.64 (1844) by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (solo violin Pasquale Allegretti Gravina); there Suite from L’oiseau de feu (1919 version) by Igor Stravinsky.
