As part of the electrification project of bus line No. 119 Veleslavín Railway Station – Prague Airport, it is necessary to build more than 11 kilometers of a new traction overhead line. Dopravní podnik hl. m of Prague (DPP) therefore announces a public contract for the processors of these constructions.
Its estimated value is CZK 350 million, it should be published in the Public Procurement Bulletin no later than Monday, July 4, 2022. DPP plans to start building new infrastructure between Nádraží Veleslavín and Václav Havel Prague Airport during the last quarter of this year.

As part of the electrification project of bus line No. 119 Nádraží Veleslavín – Prague Airport, DPP will build traction trolleybuses in the section between the bus terminal Nádraží Veleslavín and the Terminal 3 stop. DPP sends to line No. 119. This is a total of approximately 11.6 kilometers of new overhead lines. In addition to the construction of traction masts, overhead lines and cable laying, the winning contractor will also have the task of building three completely new substations (at Veleslavín Railway Station, Prague Airport and Řepy garage) and equipping the new substation at Dědina with technology. line from Divoká Šárka to Dědina, while the support of both mentioned DPP projects is closely coordinated. Roughly 50% of the route of the current route of line no.
DPP will evaluate suppliers’ offers in accordance with the Public Procurement Act according to economic advantage, ie according to the lowest offer price without VAT. DPP expects to compete with the supplier and conclude a contract with him by the end of October this year.
“We would like to open the construction itself before the end of this year, depending on the course of property security. The construction should last a maximum of 15 months, but we anticipate its completion by the end of next year. We expect the commissioning of trolleybus line No. 119 in the entire section at the beginning of 2024 in connection with the supply of 20 large-capacity three-cell battery trolleybuses intended for this line, which we managed to compete and book in February this year, “said Jan Šurovský, – Surface and added: “Thanks to the new three-cell battery trolleybuses, it will offer me a much higher comfort connection between Prague Airport and the Nádraží Veleslavín metro station. Passengers can look forward to a higher capacity of vehicles, in which there will be enough space for larger luggage, prams or passengers with reduced mobility. “
The intention of the DPP is to obtain financial support from the National Recovery Plan for the electrification of bus line No. 119, both for the construction of the charging infrastructure and for driving.
