Toulouse. At Prép’art, internships to test your artistic vocation
The Prép’art Toulouse school, which prepares students for entrance examinations to major public schools of art, design, and cinema, offers during school holidays, orientation and discovery courses in these different disciplines, for high school students from the age of 16. The very next session, from July 4 to 8, will be reserved for the discovery of artistic practice. On the program, drawing, painting, design, graphics, volumes, sculpture, or even a cultural outing with a visit to the Abattoirs museum. Supervised by artists/teachers, trainees could test their motivation as well as their graphic and visual skills, and find out about art schools and their trainees.
“It is for our young people the possibility of checking if they are ready to engage in long studies and to make art a profession” comments Myriam Godmane the director. At the end of the course, an individual assessment with a pedagogical manager makes it possible to ensure the relevance of the orientation project and a personalized summary is sent to the families. This assessment can be the occasion of an interview for a future admission to the school. Places are still available and registrations remain open for the next school year in September, the 18th for Prép’art Toulouse, which already has a provisional success rate of 92% for the year 2021/2022. Among the winners of the competitions, some will join prestigious establishments such as ENSAD, or the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, or even the Gobelins. It should also be noted that the exhibition in homage to Luc Peltriaux, founder of the Academy of Drawing, which adjoins the Prép’art workshops, remains open to the public until July 13.
