Between Karlštejn and Zadní Třebaní, an express train crashed into a fallen rock on the tracks, the locomotive and the first wagon derailed, Czech Railways (ČD) spokesman Lukáš Kubát informed about it. Traffic on the line between Beroun and Prague is interrupted, ČD provides alternative bus transport. According to regional fire spokeswoman Dagmar Zemanová, about 150 people traveled on the train. Spokeswoman for Central Bohemian rescuers Monika Nováková said that five of them suffered minor injuries.
“At the moment, the evacuation of passengers is awaited, the traffic between Beroun and Prague is completely stopped,” said the spokesman. According to the web ČD’s accident happened around 6:00, the restriction is expected to last until 14:00.
“Firefighters went through all the wagons, in which about 150 people traveled, no one was injured, people left the train themselves and someone left on foot, someone in the direction of Karlštejn, in the direction of Prague,” said Zemanová.
Rescuers treated lightly five wounded, four on the spot, one passenger with a bruised cervical spine was taken to a hospital in Hořovice, said Nováková. Five rescue crews intervened on the spot.
