Construction work on Stadtbahn line 9: Infra-red blocks Badenstedter and Empelder Strasse in summer
Badenstedt. The construction work of the infrastructure company (Infra) of the Hanover region along the tram line 9 will continue in the summer. The Badenstedter Strasse and Empelder Strasse will be closed to vehicle traffic in the coming weeks for the construction of elevated platforms and the laying of new tracks. Many owners of adjacent shops are already complaining about a drop in sales because customer traffic has collapsed due to the construction work.

Badenstedter Strasse closed until August 21st
According to the Infa, Badenstedter Strasse between Hermann-Ehlers-Allee and Wörmannstrasse has been completely closed to motor traffic since Monday, June 27th, until August 21st. During this time, the rails in the section between the Am Soltekamp stop and the junction with Wörmannstraße are to be renewed, as these have been worn down by many years of use. In addition, between Nauheimer Strasse and Woermannstrasse, the track going into town will be laid at a greater distance from the adjacent track. In this way, it can be broadened so that modern trains could also run on this route in the future, instead of only the older green city railways as before.
One-way street regulation applies until July 13
Between June 27 and July 13, Badenstedter Strasse and Empelder Strasse will become one-way streets in the section from the Woermannstrasse junction to the underpass of federal highway 65 on Hermann-Ehlers-Allee. Due to construction work on the elevated platforms at the Safariweg and Riechersstraße light rail stops and the laying of tracks, this section can then only be traveled out of town in the direction of Ronnenberg/Empelde, reports Infra.

Empelder Straße will be closed from July 14th
Subsequently, from July 14 to August 21, Empelder Strasse is to be completely closed from the junction with Lenther Strasse to Hermann-Ehlers-Allee for the laying of new tracks. During this time, you can still drive to Kapellenweg and the houses at Empelder Straße 27 and 29 via Riecherstraße. According to Infra, the Nibelungenviertel and the Fränkische Strasse industrial park can still be reached. The diversion leads from Empelder Straße via the Zimmermann Sonderposten supermarket to Hagenbleckstraße. The Ostafrikaviertel can be approached via Hermann-Ehlers-Allee and Mattfeldstraße.
