More than 200 kilograms of cannabis were seized by Dijon customs officers during a check on the A 31 on Friday June 17.
Friday, June 17, Dijon customs officers made a spectacular discovery. During a check on the A31, near the Gevrey-Chambertin area, 15 kilometers south of Dijon, customs officers discovered 213 kilograms of cannabis in a truck registered in Poland. Driven by a Lithuanian driver, the truck came from Spain and was heading for Germany.
The customs officers were helped by the presence of Oli, a sniffer dog trained to detect drugs. During the check, the dog Oli stopped several times outside the truck, as well as under the trailer, near the tanks. The customs officers then decide to unload the truck.
Once the truck is unloaded, the sniffer dog moves at the floor of the trailer. The customs officers then dismantled the floor: they discovered 169 kilograms of herbal cannabis and 43 kilograms of cannabis resin. The Dijon prosecutor’s office has taken up the case, which is due to go to court on July 24.
