Rock in Rio Lisbon 2022 | Bush
The last weekend of Rock in Rio Lisboa 2022 has arrived! In this sense, the Bushes opened the Mundo Stage with a shy audience, but one that quickly changed.
Several criticisms about the latest editions of Rock in Rio Lisboa, where most point to the lack of artists in the rock genre. However, the third day of the ninth edition of the festival showed that they share this idea, which could not be more wrong. In other words, the festival is increasingly eclectic, with a huge variety for all tastes, but it has never stopped, nor will it present, to present excellent Rock concerts. Therefore, Palco Mundo was opened by the English band, Bush, with charismatic vocalist Gavin Rossdale. The multifaceted artist, who has also had an interpretation, gave a consistent experiment with the other members. But it also taught a (valuable) lesson to all the artists who were, and will, step on the main stage of Rock in Rio Lisboa.
On the day with Duran Duran audience, followed by A-ha and UB40, Bush had the task of opening the main stage, and putting on the main stage. With a lackluster start, the band chose the song “The Kingdom” to open the concert. Unknown to most audiences, the song didn’t make much of an impact, despite the electrifying Gavin Rossdale. The encouragers started to rise, with “Machinehead” soon after. With a fast guitar solo, with simple but addictive lyrics, the audience started to follow the band’s energy. Likewise, more and more people were entering the City of Rock, on a day that brought together around 70,000 festivals.
However, the highlight of the concert was not the last song, as usual. Therefore, at a certain point, the lead singer of Bush began to walk through the rest of the Mundo Stage, that is, the corridor that enters the middle of the audience. When the artists interact and are close to the audience, we know that the concert has reached another level. On the contrary, when there is the slightest interaction, purely and simply, a demonstration, it is not music, and not a concert/show worthy of the word. In that sense, Gavin Rossdale started to raise the spirits in the City of Rock, and what a way! Inevitably, these runners always have high grades to prevent public transgression. barrier, there is always a way to dismantle, despite and that’s what the lead singer of Bush did, with a little run around the stage of the Mundo Stage.
But it wasn’t a small race, going to the middle of the enclosure in front of the Mundo Stage! At the same time, he never stopped singing and interacting with the people he crossed paths with. Obviously, several people committed a “chasing” the vocalist, but without abuse. Therefore, special assistance from security was not required. Either way, Gavin Rossdale showed a great range, which most artists can’t reach, by running and singing at the same time, never stopping. On the other side, already on stage, the rest of the Bush members interacted in his own way.
From that moment on, the public never shut up, and the English band “had them” in their hands. The concert continued, with the singer’s return to the stage. Still, he never stood still, always from one side to the other (and jumping around). With an age bordering on his sixties, Gavin Rossdale was the first to show that day, what old rags are. Among the newest and oldest songs, the band chose the ideal medium. Therefore, another highlight of the concert was the song “Glycerine”, one of the band’s best known.
sale, the concert had to come to an end, with “Comedown” closing. A solid show, with a lesson in how to interact with the audience through the medium. Of this, there is a song that should have been included in the set-list, “despite wallowed”. So, with the audience happy and still enthusiastic, the performance of UB40 followed.
