MHMP: Prague is completing further investments in the development of social infrastructure on its territory

The capital continues to develop the capacity of relief services for families with children with disabilities.
Prague councilors approved the acceptance of a state subsidy to partially cover investment costs for the creation of a new service at the DAR center in Veleslavín. Furthermore, the investment imposed the preparation of a follow-up event, which will turn the service into two separate units with their own barrier-free access.

The construction of the DAR pavilion in Veleslavín continues according to the construction plan and should be completed after the holidays. Thanks to the investments, a new residential relief service will be created for Prague families who take care of people with disabilities. The opening of the service is planned for the beginning of 2023.
Of the total amount of the investment project of 40 million crowns, the capital receives a state subsidy in the amount of 25% of the costs. “The investment project for the construction of a relief service in Veleslavín is an example of what the development of social services in the capital should look like. The municipality and the contributory organization have learned how to obtain funds from other sources as well and not just rely on the Prague budget, “says Milena Johnová, Councilor. m of Prague for social policy and health care.
In the last year, the capital was a successful applicant for subsidy support in addition to almost 10 crowns for DC Paprsek received from the program 013 310 of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs for development and renewal of material and technical basic social services also for new community services provided by a contributory organization in Terezín or construction of new bed capacities of a Prague home for the elderly in Dobřichovice.

At the same time, the City of Prague decided to prepare the next phase of the investment project, based on a proposal from the Prague Commission for the Development of Community Care. “With regard to the needs of the inhabitants of the metropolis, the resulting service will be divided into two households, one providing a residential relief service for children, the other for adult clients,” adds councilor Milena Johnová. Both services will have their own barrier-free entrance.
The form of the residential service was consulted with external experts and future users. is the timely and economically friendly completion of the first phase of the first phase, thanks to which Praguers will receive a service for both children and adults with disabilities, as these services are historically in short supply in Prague.
