The Ciclostorica in fact, due to its connotation of cycling tourism “Slow” non-competitive, enhances the enhancement and protection of the landscape, making the beauty of uncontaminated places appreciate, and paves the way for an alternative tourism that in recent years has aroused great interest.
The Titanica, the three proposed routes: departure and arrival from the Piazza Grande in Borgo Maggiore
Three itineraries are proposed, all with departure and arrival from the Piazza Grande in Borgo Maggiore. the itinerary, which also involves the neighboring municipalities of San Leo and Verucchio, winds through the heart of the historic center of San Marino, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and then on the hills between the Titano rocks and the blue of the Adriatic; and again on white country roads and on the route of the old railway, with several passages inside the suggestive tunnels. But the Titanica is also an opportunity to discover the goodness of the territory, with the possibility for cyclists of other times to taste a great variety of local specialties in the various refreshment points, from the delicacies of the Terra di San Marino Consortium to the products of Cantina San Marino, with the typical flavors of the Romagna tradition.
“An event like La Titanica fits perfectly with our idea of tourism. – declared the Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati – it is an initiative that embodies the essence of sporting competition, but which mainly pushes towards the world of historical re-enactments and which I do not hesitate to define a 1000 miles out of 2 wheel. To the organizers, the San Marino Cycling Federation and Virtus Bike I really wish to achieve the same historic success of the 1000 miles! In my capacity as Secretary of State for Tourism I want to extend my heartfelt welcome to all the participants, certain that, in the fog of the race, they will still be able to appreciate the territory along the route, a unique territory of its kind “. Teodoro Lonfernini (Secretary of State for Sport): “Events such as the Titanica confirm the inestimable value of the sport / tourism combination for a territory like ours. A wonderful territory where the passion for two wheels, whether motorized or pedaled, is breathed daily. Our roads have always been the scene of epic challenges and historical competitions, from the Giro d’Italia to amateur races but always with the great passion for cycling that distinguishes this territory. The work of the Sports Federations and Associations, which I thank, once again confirms itself for the conception and organization of an event which, I have no doubts, will prove to be a success! “.
