According to a decision by the Hanover administrative court in July, the AfD in Lower Saxony may use a hall in the Lower Saxony state capital for a party conference. The decision is not yet final. The state capital Hanover can lodge a complaint with the Lower Saxony Higher Administrative Court (OVG) in Lüneburg within two weeks.

It was initially unclear whether the AfD would hold another party conference in Hanover. At the end of May, the right-wing populist party elected its new state executive at a party conference in a tent on Hanover’s Schützenplatz because it had not been able to find a venue beforehand.
However, the state list for the state elections still has to be drawn up. This could also happen in the LKH Arena in Lüneburg. Two weeks ago, the Higher Administrative Court rejected the Lüneburg district’s appeal against a decision by the Lüneburg Administrative Court. The district was obliged to instruct the operating and service company of the arena to give the state association of the AfD the hall on 11/12. June or alternatively another date in June and July 2022.
