ESCH-BELVAL – The Black Eyed Peas reignited the blast furnaces on Wednesday evening, opposite the Rockhal.
The temperature remained high for a long time, Wednesday evening, on the forecourt of the Rockhal. The great heat that settled in Luxembourg was not the only cause. Bubbling on stage, at the foot of the historic blast furnaces of Belval, the Black Eyed Peas rekindled the flame there. An outdoor show that brought together more than 8,000 spectators.
The American group quickly fed the oven with heavy classics, such as “Let’s get it started” and “Boom boom pow”. The time to dub J. Rey Soul on “Ritmo”, it quickly goes on to “Mamacita”. First big salvo on “Pump it”, the tone is given, the arms are in the air. In front of an audience quickly rising in fusion, Apl.de.ap, Will.i.am and Taboo, supported by an incandescent J. Rey Soul, machine-gun the tracks.
The machine is well run, declining the range of its influences, hip hop, electro, Latino… A flow of life, love, celebration – “Where is the love?”, “Don’t stop the party”. Just before going on stage, the Americans told the press that they wanted to give positivity, energy, after the anxieties linked to the Covid pandemic. Here is a good debauchery to make up for lost time.
The Californian band showered the public with hits, each more invigorating than the next. Before galvanizing once and for all the audience with the boiling, the mythical, “I gotta feeling”. At the Open Air Belval, the tube factory delivered a steel performance.
