The transport robot arriving in Debrecen has also shown itself in Spain
At the beginning of the year, DKV Zrt. Changed the launch of the Debrecen Smart City LogiSmile project, the essence of which is to be able to test the transport systems of my future in different cities and in a real environment.
As DKV’s announcement on Saturday points out, Debrecen is participating in the project as a pilot city: the city’s task is to serve as a test area for the system in real conditions. The test examines, among other things, the human-vehicle interactions of such solutions.
Debrecen preceded a pilot experiment in Esplugues from 6 to 10 June, where the first live test of an ADD self-driving automatic parcel vehicle interested in the city of Civis was held.
His experimental experience in Spain can greatly contribute to the success of Debrecen, so DKV staff, László Mátyus, Director of Innovation and Service Development, and Olivér Papp, Development Specialist, personally traveled to the demonstration site. Dr. László Kovács, a professor at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen, took part in the event as an observer to gather material for his scientific work.
The pilot experiment in Esplugues ended on Friday with an official demonstration in which the robot set off on a test drive in front of the consortium partners as well as in public under closed traffic conditions.
During the demonstration, which was visited by the city of Esplugues, its national minister, several key players and many locals, the robot traveled a 600-meter journey in autonomous mode, under the full supervision of the operator, simulating the delivery of a package.
Based on the experience, the Spanish experts will further refine the operation of the robot and make a number of proposals for the pilot experiment in Debrecen on topics such as proper routing, clarification of regulatory issues and the technical environment to be provided.
