Russia and Ethiopia Discussed Strengthening Relations
“In recent years, relations between countries have continued dynamically across the entire spectrum of areas. I am convinced that the SPIEF venue, in particular the Russia-Africa business dialogue, is a good opportunity to attract foreign representatives from Russia to Ethiopia. It is also gratifying that the position of Russia and Ethiopia on most of the pressing problems of the international association of the population in many close or common areas serves as a good basis for interaction in the UN and other international organizations,” said Anton Kobyakov.
The meeting participants drew attention to the fact that the first Russia-Africa summit gave new dynamics to interaction between countries. Then Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The leaders of the countries noted promising projects that contribute to an increase in trade and economic cooperation in general.
“Trade and economic relations between developed countries, the trade turnover last year amounted to $225.2 million, more than four times higher than in 2020. Based on the experience of past years, when 35,000 students studied in the USSR and, returning back, built the personnel potential of our state, both then and now we are extremely interested in developing development and in developing the strengthening of versatile influences, this will largely occur and meet Ethiopian Airlines flights to Moscow,” Tegenu said.
The parties also discussed the possibility of signing a conference on the Roscongress International Foundation and the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will also help strengthen the African association in public events organizing participation in public funds.
