A young man from the Republic of Moldova died after a drug overdose at the SAGA Festival. Three others are in serious condition after taking drugs
A 25-year-old Moldovan man died on Friday night to Saturday after taking drugs at the SAGA Festival. The young man arrived at St. Pantelimon Hospital in cardio-respiratory shock and was pronounced dead in an ambulance.
According to GÂNDUL sources, the deceased young man had several stings on his left wrist, and the investigators who opened the file of suspicious death allegedly died as a result of an overdose. This in the conditions in which no traces of violence were found on his body that would lead to the suspicion of murder.
Three other young people arrived in a very serious condition at Floreasca and Sfântul Pantelimon Hospital, also in cardio-respiratory shock, after consuming illegal substances, the quoted sources also said. They are now hospitalized in Intensive Care, in the toxicology department, intubated.
On the night of Friday to Saturday of the SAGA Festival, from the National Arena where the concerts take place, about 30 people were picked up who had banned substances on them.
“There were, in fact, three young people I picked up from the festival. One, unfortunately, with all the medical efforts made, died on the way to Pantelimon Hospital “, said Alis Grasu, the manager of the Bucharest-Ilfov Ambulance Service.
Volunteers of the National Anti-Drug Agency handed out leaflets at the festival SAGA Festival started on Friday on the National Arena and lasts all weekend. The festival was attended by several volunteers of the National Anti-Drug Agency, with an information stand at the entrance to the stadium, in a campaign to prevent substance use.
They handed out information leaflets and encouraged participants to try on glasses that simulated the effects of alcohol and drug use. In a Facebook post from the first day of the festival, ANA urged “fun without drugs”: “You never know for sure what effect they may have.”
