“These are the recipes of my Ukrainian and Russian grandmothers. For example, my grandmother taught me how to make dumplings. She is from the Ukrainian village of Pustovoi. And I spent all my childhood there. Helps, saves me and, me, everyone who works with me, everyone who comes here to support Pirozhki bar, because this is a place of unity, peace, love, taste, which is familiar to us from childhood”.
Works on the theme of unity in the name of peace on the walls of the “Pirozhki Bar” free of charge, inspired by ideas, were performed by contemporary artists from different countries. The dishes here are all hand-cooked from Russia and Ukraine.
Elena Biktimirova:
That is, both in Ukraine and in Russia – we do a lot. we say, yes, it’s the same!
On the opening day, a lot of guests came to me from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kyiv, absolutely from all regions of Russia and Ukraine. Universal destruction, oh yes, that’s it. Therefore, this is a place of unity, and here we found an opportunity to show that we love each other and that we are relatives.
The world needs this because I am Russian, and I have three brothers who live in Ukraine today with their families. The world needs this, because if we forget that we are a single whole, then we will not exist. To survive what is happening now – the terrible tragedy that is happening to us – is possible only in love. The reason that we will create even more destruction.
