Warsaw: A series of concerts “Pianokół” by Bartek Wąsik
On May 29, the cycle of concerts “Pianokół” by Bartek Wąsik will return to the Sculpture Museum in Królikarnia, a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw. For the third edition of the musical project and the continuation of existing rights, the National Museum in Warsaw informed PAP. The next concerts will take place on June 19, July 10 and August 7.
As it was reported in the case of reading the information, concertos at piano concertos, “Étiudy piano” concertos by the composer Philip Glass, which this year were 85. The pieces were written in the years 1991-2012. “Thanks to this time span, they are testimony to the development of Glass’s graphic language,” it was noted. “They consist of two books in each book, which may contain opportunities of a rich and individual character, in which the pianist is to show that not only, but primarily due to musical maturity and evaluation,” he added. It is the “Piano Etudes” that will begin and end this year’s “Pianocross”, creating space for the two middle concerts, whose protagonists will be Jóhann Jóhannsson (1969-2018), previously crowned with the composer’s islands, and Valentin Silvestrov from Ukraine.
It is reported that Johannson’s recital is a tribute to this artist. The concert will feature pieces from various periods in his work. In turn, the concert with music by Valentin Silvestrov will show the profile of the Ukrainian composer, sketched, among others, by his “Bagatelami” and the composition “Der Bote”.
This year, during the concerts, part of the rotunda inside the palace will be available. When it dawns, the audience will be next to the piano and to leave the pieces among the works of art presented at the newly opened exhibition “CYRK”. Exclusive, which can be viewed up to 2, it shows not only the joyful side of the circus and the people with it, but also its radio minority watched: balancing on a scam and death.

Admission to all concerts in the cycle is free.
Bartek Wąsik is a pianist, composer and arranger, as well as a laureate of many countries and international competitions, the Fryderyk Phonographic Prize and the Polityka Passport 2014. He is a co-founder and member of the Lutosławski Piano Duo and the Kwadrofonik quartet. He has performed in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
