Formula 1 | Norris still in pain but cleared to race in Monaco
Lando Norris did not take part in the drivers’ press conferences this Friday morning in Monaco because he is still suffering from his tonsillitis. But he was however cleared to drive by the McLaren doctor and the FIA.
McLaren announced last Sunday after the Spanish Grand Prix that its driver, who took his MCL36 to the finish in eighth place, suffered from tonsillitis.
The team insisted at the time that the driver’s health was the primary consideration in deciding whether or not to let him race in Monaco.
“We obviously have a doctor involved in decisions like that. And we never risk Lando’s health, just to be clear on that as well. ‘it was clear from his side that he was going to try, he took the start. explained Seidl.
Norris will be hoping to recover his form in the five days between the race in Spain and the Monaco Libre 1s but was still feeling unwell this morning when he was allowed to miss the drivers’ press conference in order to prepare as well as possible to drive.
He was therefore declared fit enough to sit in his seat during Free 1 just now, but not to answer questions from journalists, which caused some criticism in the paddock…
