Coronavirus: what the figures say in Belgium
Several indicators have fallen sharply.

EBetween May 20 and May 26, there were an average of 73.6 hospital admissions per day due to covid, down 20% from the previous reporting period, according to figures from the public health institute Sciensano updated Friday morning.
A total of 1,101 coronavirus-positive people are currently hospitalized, including 86 patients treated in intensive care.
Between May 17 and May 23, 2,299 new Sars-CoV-2 infections were detected on average per day, down 35% from the previous week.
Over the same period, 7.6 people died per day on average while they were carrying the virus (-24%), bringing the death toll to 31,727 since the start of the pandemic in Belgium.
Nearly 14,900 tests on average were also carried out daily, for a positivity rate of 17.1%.
The reproduction rate of the virus is 0.85. When it is less than 1, this indicator means that the epidemic tends to slow down. The incidence, which provides the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, reached 355 over 14 days.
