The first development of the pestódó The new track connection built at the junction of Haller utca and Soroksári út was handed over in November 2020 by trams coming from the direction of Orczy út – Harcu utca to the Járosai Mari tér.
2M was also a big step forward
The new 2M tram could be launched on the handover track, which will help replace the M3 metro on the middle line as a new scheduled service between the Eastern Railway Station and Jászai Mari.
According to the Budapest Transport Center, using the possibilities of the track network, a new tram line is planned to be launched, which would be more easily and directly accessible from the Pesterzsébet area on the route Mester utca – Haller utca – Soroksári út in the city center.
The tram traffic on the inner Mester Street will not change significantly according to the new traffic order, however, according to the proposal, a denser fixed-track access to the new residential areas will be created in the area of Vágóhíd Street, and the new tram 2B will provide a direct connection to the city center.
A social consultation will be launched on the tram service between Pacsirtatelep and Jászai Mari Square. BKK side you can share our opinion.
