On Whit Monday, June 6th, an Austrian team will also start in the FEI Nations Cup of Switzerland. And not as usual in the second division, the EEF Series, but exceptionally in the “1. League” of the Nations Cup! Since the Czechs have withdrawn, our jumping team can move up as a reserve and show what they can do on the grass course. The team, led by Chef d’Equipe Christian Knoll, consists of: Bianca Babanitz (B), Max Kuehner (T), Fritz Koegelnig Jr. (k), Alessandra Reich (ÖÖ) and Catherine Rhomberg (V).
It is a great honor for Austria to be able to ride in the first division, as show jumping consultant Sabine Schranz im EQWO.net– Conversation tells.
There are very strong teams from: Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland. For these teams, the stage serves as a qualification for the World Equestrian Games in Herning (DEN) in 2022 and the European Championships in 2023, and the competition is also an evaluation test for the world rankings. There are two rounds over 160 cm to be ridden, starting on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
As early as 2021, an Austrian starter was able to take part in the CSI5* in St. Gallen for a short time and then achieve a top place: Alessandra Reich, who spontaneously received permission to start and was able to place sensationally in third place over 150 cm (EQWO.net reported). Therefore: keep your fingers crossed for the red-white-red team, who knows what’s possible! 😀
