“The cessation of aid was brutal”: the health crisis closed the Full Fitness sports halls in Toulouse and Cugnaux
The Full Fitness sports halls in Cugnaux and Toulouse lowered the curtains on March 31, the fault of the long months of closure during the health crisis.
The storm, the fog and explained, the fall. The Full Fitness gyms in Cugnaux and Toulouse, like other fitness clubs, faced the government’s mistakes during the health crisis. They had to face repeated closures (11 months in total over the two years of health crises, editor’s note) and health restrictions during the few months of opening.
Despite the situation, Miguel Mestre, the manager, had high hopes for the end of the crisis. “We were able to reopen in June 2021. you. This was not the case…”, he laments.

Over the months, the coffers of the sports halls have been emptied. In the red, the manager of the fitness clubs placed his meager hopes in Bercy, from whom he asked for an additional state equity loan. The negative response coupled with the sudden cessation of aid forced it to file for bankruptcy.
“We were on a drip,” says Miguel Mestre. In December, the State stopped paying us aid. Only companies that have lost more than 50% of turnover could still receive aid until January. For my part, I had lost 48% of turnover. I had nearly 110,000 euros in aid. My situation appalled the commercial court”.

On March 31, the manager of Full Fitness closed the door for the last time, after 10 years of adventure. Miguel Mestre went from “everything to nothing”. “I got up at 6 am, I went to bed at 11 pm, I was useful. I take care as I can now, ”he slips.
His sudden exit from the world of work left some traces. If he is still uncertain about his professional future, Miguel Mestre wants to take the path of salaried employment, “entrepreneurship is exhausting”.
