ROME

Thief acrobat rushes to Rome and risks being lynched: saved by the carabinieri

Sugar Mizzy May 24, 2022

A thick rope, of those found on construction sites, which are tied to pulleys to lift heavy materials: he had knotted it at the waist, tucked into the belt of his trousers while the other end was tied to some gaps in the condominium terrace. He descended from there, from a height of at least twenty meters, between the buildings of the Tufello, to enter an apartment on the third floor almost with the intent of burglary. But the blow failed and he, a 51-year-old Italian and very Roman, was saved by a whisker from lynching.

Rome, nightmare home burglaries at Appio at dinner time: “The thieves come up from the balcony and open the windows”

It is Saturday afternoon, the sun has not yet set because it is just 6.40 pm, a woman – when the prince of thieves with a long excursus behind him has started the descent – sees feet emerge from a terrace and begins to scream. From the balcony on the second floor where she is, the lady looks up and sees two legs protruding with the soles of the feet half resting on the windowsill. She begins to scream at the top of her voice while the man, TF – born in 1971 – taken by surprise started to go down again in an attempt to escape. He did not expect to be discovered, he had a moment of faintness and was also about to lose his balance but then he went back to staring at his feet, they were not even windy, on the walls of the building and at the end from the height of the first floor he fell to the ground.
THE DYNAMICS
The screams of the woman in addition to dragging some neighbors to call the police, attracted several passersby who, before the arrival of the carabinieri, surrounded the criminal. The man will also tell the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Montesacro, who intervened on the spot and who then led the investigations, that he was attacked and insulted. «I wanted to occupy an apartment without stealing anything», the man will tell the soldiers who, having arrived in via Amleto Palermi, in the heart of the Tufello district, will disperse the people who had surrounded him. When the 51-year-old was stopped he still had the rope tied to his trousers and a bag with the tools of the trade: pincers, screwdrivers, wrenches. There was everything to open windows, break down locks and any safes.

Rome, the mystery of the wounded thief: shoot while he was robbing the house

Born in Rome, he toured Italy scoring several hits also in an operation of the Arma conducted in Sardinia in 2003 against a very fierce gang that had plundered half the island. Yesterday morning the Direttissima took place, the arrest with compulsory residence in the Municipality of Perugia was confirmed. The accusation against him is to face even if the man tried to justify himself by saying that “he did not want to steal but to occupy a house” resulting in homelessness. But the military, also because of the tools found in an envelope tied to his belt, did not believe him. Almost certainly the shot had been studied in great detail if only for the acrobat modality achieved which reveals all the skill accumulated over time.
