City of Antwerp to launch new app this autumn (Antwerp)
The city of Antwerp will launch a new city application this autumn. The aim is to bring the services and the experience of the city closer to the people. It will replace the city’s current app.
The further development of the new city app will be in the hands of the company Cronos Public Services & icapps. The future users are residents, visitors, students and entrepreneurs. They must find information on the service, the public domain and the offer in the city.
“With our app, we get the service and through direct communication also collaboration with that user,” says Erica Caluwaerts (Open Vld), Antwerp’s alderman for Digitization. “We are developing our own city application for residents and visitors to our city. For example, you will be able to indicate illegal dumping in one click, but also get an overview of water there is to do in the city. The A card will be digitally placed within the app.”
The assignment from Cronos Public Services & icapps includes the start of the construction of the app, and its further development over the course of 6 years.
