More than 2,000 ethnic Hungarians from Romania will participate on Saturday, May 21, in Alba Iulia, in the unveiling ceremony of the statue of Prince Gábor Bethlen, in Alba Carolina Fortress, the representatives of the Reformed Diocese of Transylvania stated for alba24.ro.
The event will be attended by the President of Hungary, Katalina Novak. Also, a scene will be placed in the Mist Square, where the President of Hungary, together with other officials, will make statements.
After the unveiling ceremony of the statue, those present in the Citadel of Alba Iulia will participate in a festive commemoration service.

The unveiling of the statue will take place at 11.00, and the memorial service will be held from 12.00.
The unveiling of the statue of Prince Gabor Bethlen takes place on the occasion of the largest event of the Hungarian Reformed Church. More precisely, between May 19-21, the Day of the Reformed Unity organized by the Reformed Diocese of Transylvania takes place in Alba Iulia.
Who is Katalin Novák

He has studied economics, law and public administration in Hungary and France. He has lived in the United States, France, and Germany, and speaks English, French, German, and Spanish.
Statue of Prince Gábor Bethlen
It is about a bronze statue that will be placed in the roundabout in the roundabout located on Unirii Street, in the area of the “December 1, 1918” University.
It will be located to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Academic College by Prince Gabriel Bethlen.
The statue of the Prince is made by the bronze sculptor Deak Arpad. The costs of the realization are borne by the Reformed Diocese of Transylvania, and the statue will remain its property.
The text “Gabriel Bethlen 1580 – 1629” will be inscribed on the upper register, and “SI DEUS PRO NOBIS, QUIS CONTRA NOS (ROM. 8,31) COLLEGIUM ACADEMICUM 400 (1622 – 2022)” will be inscribed on the lower register.
The proposed base will have a base of 1.2 x 1.2 meters and a height of one meter and will be made of andesite.
The approximate weight of the school will be 2.6 tons, and the total weight of the whole will be 3.5 tons.
