Neuilly-Paris: suspected of having stolen 500,000 euros worth of watches and a victim, three men injured
Last April, they had already stolen a nice collection of luxury watches, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, before injuring their victim when they fled. While they delivered another burglary, this time in Paris in the 14th arrondissement, these three men were arrested and remanded in custody on Tuesday.
The theft committed in Neuilly-sur-Seine dates back to the night of April 29 to 30. Shortly before midnight, the owner of the watches, a 77-year-old man, and his daughter returned to the latter’s apartment in the rue du Longpont. From time to time, her father lives with her. This is why his watches are locked up there, locked in a showcase.
As they enter the building, both are jostled by three people. It is about the three burglars, who decamp after having stolen the watches. The old man, who walks on crutches, loses his balance and falls. The unfortunate man is so seriously injured that he is still being treated in hospital and has been prescribed a temporary interruption of work for 90 days.
Seized of the investigation, the brigade of repression of the banditry found the trace of the burglars, in particular by studying the images of video surveillance and by recovering telephone lines. On May 13, the BRB is on their heels and arrests them in the act after they stole jewelry from an apartment in the 14th arrondissement.
At the end of their police custody, these three men aged 31, 42 and 47 were indicted for “organized gang robbery accompanied by violence for that of Neuilly, and criminal conspiracy to defeat a crime”, before being incarcerated. The instruction aims in particular to establish the way in which they targeted their victims, to determine a possible channel of concealment and to check if they can be the authors of other thefts with burglary.
