Man calls for brutal assault
On Sunday 15 May, a 25-year-old man was subjected to a brutal assault on the street in Copenhagen.
According to Danish police, the man’s cheek was cut open, his left ear was cut off and he was stabbed several times.
On Tuesday night, a 20-year-old man was apprehended by Danish police, suspected of having carried out the assault, but the police believe that a Dutch 24-year-old man also participated.
The Danish police have now issued an international search for the 24-year-old Dutch citizen Yahye Mohamed Omar.
– Our investigation fills in that he has left Denmark and that he either stays or has traveled through Sweden, Norway (in the area around Oslo) or north of Germany, writes police superintendent Kenneth Jensen in a press release.
They consider the man dangerous, and the police ask people not to contact him.
– If anyone sees him, then they should be contacted immediately, they write.
Police are now asking the public for help.
– This assault was brutal, so we have launched an intensive investigation to get the person arrested. Therefore, we ask everyone who has put or knows something about where he is, to contact us. We work with our international colleagues, but we need help from the public, says Jensen.
