The little Genoese cyclists of Bicibu Sauro, after a whole school year in which they never have a weekly appointment from their biketoschool, they will be back on the road with a double date. First they will reach the Nazario Sauro school to attend the morning lessons, then at 13 all out of school to participate in the Giro d’Italia.
The children, in fact, will cover the last stages of meters of the twelfth stage of the Giro d’Italia e they will pass under the finish line of the professional athletes at 14:05.
The children will be volunteers by the wonderful guardian angels, cyclists who lend their experience to lead the children to the finish in complete safety. Among the guardian angels, in addition to some Fiab members and others belonging to #Genovaciclabile, there will be the extraordinary presence of Lucas Vega, the Italian freestyle bmx champion who will delight children with some evolutions on his bmx and Eleonora Mele, Paralympic champion, multiple medalists also to the World Championships recently held in Belgium, which will bring the latest medals to be seen by these very lucky children.
“It is the right reward for our extraordinary pioneers ”commented Ica Arkel of the board of the organizing association tRiciclo – low impact children as well as the BicibuSauro locomotive. The children faced the whole school year on the saddle, even when the cold was bitter and even when the construction site for the new cycle path canceled our run-in path. They never gave up on adults who wanted a momentary interruption due to the works, but they relaunched, involving an increasing number of companions. They testified without a shadow of a doubt that Genoa can be, if it so wishes, a city suitable for children and also a city suitable for bicycles. As if that weren’t enough, these children remind us that sport cycling and urban cycling are not two separate worlds destined to never meet, but rather these budding cyclists will be able to become, who knows, the new generation through their passion for sustainable mobility. of champions our cycling needs “
